Seventy Seven
Seventy fucking seven!! Thats the lightest I have been in last 20 years or so!
A large part of it has been diligent workout, diet and routine. Although, the last kg of it is due to the recent illness. Unfortunately, given the fact that I may shift into hypothyrodism soon, all these progress would be wiped off with sudden weight gain. So celebrating it while I can. I did really worked hard for this. Without any intermittent fasting or dehydration this time around. True fat loss and muscle build up. Given I cant get back to exercise unless this is fixed. It would be sad to see it all go, but if I can do it once, I can do it 100 times! Right?
I was reading some letters I wrote before and I am amazed I totally forgot about the “trivialthings”!! So, welcome to the special surprise episode of TrivialThings!. Today’s topic is Technetium.
Technetium: The Element That Wasn’t Supposed to Exist
I recently learned about Technetium, which sounds less like a chemical element and more like a startup founded by three engineers in a garage. Its claim to fame? Technetium was the first element to be artificially produced. Scientists had been looking for it for ages, but unlike most elements, it basically said, “You want me? Make me yourself.” Even more amusingly, Technetium has no stable isotopes, meaning every atom of it is radioactive and eventually disappears. It is essentially the chemical equivalent of a guest who arrives at a party, hangs around for a bit, and then quietly ceases to exist. Despite this existential commitment, Technetium is actually quite useful; especially in medical imaging, where radioactive technetium compounds help doctors see what’s happening inside the human body, and apparently Thyroid from personal experience! So, in summary: Technetium is rare, radioactive, artificially made, medically useful, and fundamentally temporary. Honestly, it sounds less like an element and more like a consultant! ;)
