My Shangri-La

My Shangri-La

Kula shaker - Govinda

Nrsingadeva Jaya Nrsingadeva (twice)
(repeat verse)
Gaura Gaura Gaura Hari, Gaura Hari,
Prabhupda,
Govindam

It is so amusing sometimes that you find solace in something that is so “inherently” your own. For instance, this chant sung above with "grunge guitar" is vested in my veins since childhood. But not even once, I realized in last 23 years, that it could make me feel so ….. mmm….. [See! I don’t even have a word for this feeling.] I feel so tranquil and serene right now. Just because it was offered in a "western-dressing" I cared to follow and cantillate it, while Kula Shaker leads me into my realm of “Shangri-la”. Heights of treason towards all that is my own; my country, my culture, my heritage, my own ancestors and people; yet this is what I run from sometimes…all that is "My-Own"
So “typically” fucking ironical!
