Doubt
I had my weekly call last night. Yet another session of describing the problems that I foresee coming up as well as problems plaguing me currently. I sensed worry, that I usually don’t. And that in return worried me. And now the thoughts are swirling in my mind. Sowing the seeds of doubt. If the problems are because of where we are or because of my inexperience, drive and focus.
I cannot continue to live in this shroud of doubt of my own capabilities if I am to march forward with confidence. I need to overcome this imposter syndrome. Often, in my mind, the world is full of capable people and they come easy. Which I sometimes suspect, is not true. At the same time, can determination along make up for inexperience? Is it enough to say, that I won’t give up?
Doing this balancing act day after day, year after year. To keep steady, first I need to shut down the voices whispering doubt in my head and then steady my gaze. It is me who is doing this job. Maybe someone has foresight to ask me to step away from the ring, but until they don’t, I am going to do what I believe is right. That is all we have got until then.
